Get ready because there’s a travelling ‘80s music tour rolling across the U.S. this spring and summer.
Rick Springfield returns with his “I Want My ‘80s Tour" beginning May 28 at the Duke Energy Center in St. Petersburg, Florida and appearing at 34 venues across the United States this spring and summer. The tour is presented by Sirius XM ‘80s on 8 as well as Beach Bar Rum.
Several special guests are joining the fun this year, including John Waite, Wang Chung, Paul Young and John Cafferty.
The tour will be popular with his longtime fans as Rick Springfield’s music defined a generation and was a staple of MTV and rock radio during the 1980s on the strength of hit singles such as “Jessie’s Girl,” “Love Somebody,” “I Get Excited,” ‘Celebrate Youth,” “Bop Til You Drop,” and many more.
John Waite’s solo music catalog produced a No. 1 hit song, “Missing You,” as well as popular songs from his groups The Babys and Bad English, such as “When I See You Smile” and “Price of Love.”
Wang Chung’s contribution to the 1980s cannot be overlooked as hit songs “Everybody Have Fun Tonight” and “Dance Hall Days” dominated pop radio and dance clubs throughout the decade.
The tour rolls into the Houston-area this summer with a scheduled showcase at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands on Friday, July 18. Tickets and VIP Packages are on sale now at all Ticketmaster outlets.
