Crystal Gayle sets SWLA showcase

Country music star Crystal Gayle is headed back to Southwest Louisiana.

 

Grammy Award-winning artist Crystal Gayle will perform inside the Event Center of Delta Downs Casino and Racetrack in Vinton, La., on Saturday, Nov. 9. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 14 at all Ticketmaster locations and online for ages 21 and older. Tickets are $45-$55 each, plus fees.

 

Gayle, 73-years-old, is the younger sister of country music legend Loretta Lynn. She is also best known for her hit song, “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue,” which was released in 1977. The song peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart and at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

 

Other popular songs by Gayle include “Talking in Your Sleep, “Your Old Cold Shoulder, “Your Kisses Will,” “If You Ever Change Your Mind,” Too Many Lovers” and many others.

 

In 2019, she released her first studio album in 16 years, “You Don’t Know Me,” which is her 26th studio album release. The album features numerous cover versions of classic country tunes by artists such as George Jones, Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson Buck Owens and Loretta Lynn, among others, as well as collaborations.
